If there's one thing you can't criticise the Grand Duchy for, it's eating a decent pizza. The number of places where you can get a delicious authentic Italian pizza in this country is remarkably high, nobody can doubt that.

The influx of Italians into our society since the 1950s has undoubtedly made a positive contribution. Since the 1970s, enjoying a delicious pizza with family and friends at a local pizzeria has become a commonplace occurrence in our villages and neighbourhoods. This infusion of Italian culture has significantly enriched our country in many regards, but definitely in culinary aspects.

In a pizza paradise like Luxembourg, it is an even greater challenge to stand out from the crowd. Here are the 20 places in Luxembourg that serve the best pizza according to our survey which around 2,000 RTL users took place.

Soares Carlos, who has been managing Pizzeria La Romantica in Moutfort since 2005, expressed satisfaction over the praise for his restaurant. According to the manager, customers appreciate the use of fresh and simple produce in their pizzas, which he also considers crucially important– aside from having a well-made dough of course. Carlos further noted that he enjoys meeting people from all walks of life in his day-to-day job at the pizzeria.

While still considered a newcomer on Luxembourg's pizza scene by some, Cloud Factory has managed to establish a solid reputation in a short period of time. Specialised in the Neapolitan tradition, their pizzas boast a fluffy thick dough on the outside and a slightly thinner centre. Pretty much the opposite of the Romana style that is more prominent in the Grand Duchy. Starting out with a take-out only restaurant in the capital (also featured in our top 20), Cloud Factory has already expanded to the south with an in-dining space in Esch-sur-Alzette, opened in 2022.

His creations have certainly contributed to the undeniable success of the restaurant, and the bronze medal in our ranking should not come as a surprise.

Restaurant manager Guillaume Garnier from Stella Rosa in Soleuvre is extremely pleased with the second spot in our ranking, as it was a people's rather than a critics' choice. In fact, he was made aware of the competition by one of his customers, who showed him the social media frenzy around the quest for Luxembourg's best pizza. A top-ten spot alone is already a valuable recognition for the southern pizza institution, according to the Garnier. Stella Rose ensures that only the best produce is used, the pizza made with the right technique, and finally baked in a wooden oven.

He considers a love for produce, as well as for details, essential in the art of pizza-making. Fresh ingredients and sufficient time to prepare the dough, which includes 24 hours of resting time, are what characterises his pizzas. Empty plates returning to the kitchen are considered a confirmation of good practice and moreover a motivation to continue doing what they do best.
