Chapter 1

Home Castle & Castle Keep
After a short intro, you can wander around the barracks and talk to the various NPCs inside it. When you acquire the shovel later in the game, come back to this level to dig up Mr. Buddy (Animal Orb 1/29) to the far left of the area.

This level is very basic and serves as a tutorial, setting up the plot in the process. To unlock the Conscientious Objector achievement, you must complete the levels Home Castle through Barbarian Boss without attacking any enemies. This cannot be done solo - you're going to need someone else to attack the enemies for you. I suggest doing this later on because it will be much easier. Fighting your way through the waves, you'll eventually enter Castle Keep. Heading down the stairs, you'll encounter an ongoing battle with an ally Gray Knight. Help him out to open up a shop. Leaving the castle will end the level, taking you to the world map. If you've leveled up, you can spend your skill points on four different attributes. Advice on how to spend your skill points can be found in the General Hints & Tips. On the world map you can pick levels and visit shops or arenas. All weapons and Animal Orbs you collect can be found back in the Blacksmith. Here, you can view your Animal Orbs by entering the Animal Ark to the left, or your weapons by entering the Weapons Frog to the right. Pick up the Compass (Relic 1/3) next to the Animal Ark. Back out and select the next level when you're ready.

Chapter 2

Barbarian War
Making your way through the waves, you'll eventually reach a mini-boss. War Machine will shoot cannonballs, indicated by the red markers on the ground, and spawn an endless supply of Barbarians. Chip away at its health whilst doing your best to dodge the cannonballs. You can ignore the barbarians. Kill it, then continue right to reach a destructable wooden door. After killing the enemies on the bridge, the boss entrance will appear, ending the level.

Barbarian Boss
You should play this level in co-op to gain progress towards the Kay Eye Ess Ess achievement. There are four different princesses in the game, each to be rescued by beating a boss. Playing solo, you'll kiss the princess after beating the boss no matter what, voiding the achievement. In co-op, however, you'll fight each other to death after the boss battle to decide who gets to kiss the princess. If you just started the level as a continuation of Barbarian War, you should back out to the world map and restart the level in co-op.

After a cutscene, you'll start your first boss battle. Do not use any magic, as this will void an achievement. Like every boss battle from now on, I'll explain its attacks and what to watch out for. Try not to walk into him as you melee him, as he'll punch you. The Barbarian Boss will use its shield to perform two attacks. He can turn around and extend the spikes on his shield. He can also slam you into the ground, which you'll then need to wiggle yourself out of with the joystick. Once below 50% health, he'll start to chug beer, launching himself backwards and creating a path of fire. The boss will continuously spawn enemies, which you can ignore unless you need health. After beating the boss, a large treasure chest will spawn. Collect the goods, then (assuming you're playing co-op) battle for the princess. Win the battle to kiss the red princess (1/4).

If you didn't use any magic throughout the level, you'll unlock:

  • Melee Is Best

Defeat any end boss without using any magic.

If you didn't attack any enemies from Home Castle up until now, you'll also unlock:

  • Conscientious Objector

Complete the Home Castle through Barbarian Boss areas without attacking any foes.

Back on the world map, head to the King's Arena to the left of the Blacksmith. Beat this arena to unlock the Barbarian character. This has to be done solo, because you'll instead fight each other if you enter an arena in co-op. Beat the Barbarian Boss a second time using the Barbarian to unlock:

  • The Traitor

Defeat any boss by playing one of his own minions.

Levels do not carry over in this game. I recommend either replaying the Barbarian War or to have someone else carry you through the boss.

Chapter 3

Forest Entrance
You'll be introduced to mounts at the beginning of level. You can hit an enemy off its mount to steal it for yourself. Continue for a small cutscene and an introduction to beefy enemies. I recommend killing the small enemies first, this way you'll have more space to bow spam the big guy. Beefy enemies do a lot of damage if they grab you, so be careful if you decide to face them up close. Proceed until you reach the end of the level. Check behind the bush with the music notes to find Owlet (Animal Orb 2/29).

Thieves' Forest
Fight your way through the waves until you reach a river, where you'll find Seahorse (Animal Orb 3/29).

Continue to find an area full of ruins. Here, you'll be introduced to trolls. You may have already spotted an Animal Orb inside a wall. However, you're unable to collect it at this time. You must first beat the level to unlock the Thieves' Store where you can buy bombs. Do so, then revisit the level and use three bombs to open a crack in the wall and reveal Troll (Animal Orb 4/29).

Proceed until you reach a mill where you'll find your second boss, the Troll Mother. Instead of attacking you directly, this boss will do its best to evade you while spawning lots of trolls. I suggest mainly focussing the boss itself, though it might be necessary to fight off some trolls if their numbers get too big. Beat the boss, then enter the abandoned mill to end the level.

Abandoned Mill
Video guide by H0w2PS3.

An even bigger troll will chase you through the mill. Personally, I found this to be one of the most fun levels in the game. Navigate through the mill, dodging and jumping over the obstacles in your way until you reach the literal end of the mill and jump off. If you didn't hit a single obstacle, you'll unlock:

  • Deer Trainer

Navigate the Abandoned Mill without hitting any obstacles.

Rapids Ride
You'll spawn in a river. To hit enemies, you need to jump out of the water. Watch out for rocks and sharks, as they do a lot of damage. Look for a flotation device such as a fish, log or crocodile to become more mobile. Fight your way through the waves of bats and frogs until you get joined by the King, starting a boss battle.

Catfish
Lead the Catfish in front of the King's boat. Doing so will prompt the grey knights to shoot a cannonball into it. This is when the boss will become shortly immobile, taking thrice the damage it would normally. Be sure to use your flotation device to your advantage, dodging the boss' punches. When knocked off your flotation device, a new one will spawn shortly. The boss will also spit out hairballs which can be destroyed using your melee attack. When the boss goes underwater, be sure to dodge it when it comes up. Its position will be clearly indicated. Catfish's final attack is quickly swimming across the screen, which can be easily dodged using your flotation device. Keep leading the Catfish in front of the boat to get some damage in, whilst dodging its attacks in the process, to kill the boss and end the level. Since you're in a river, you won't be rewarded with a treasure chest. You'll be shown a reward screen instead.

Chapter 4

Tall Grass Field
You'll be introduced to bears. There are three Animal Orbs in this level, two of which you cannot get right now. After defeating your first wave of bears, blow your horn (obtained in the Corn Boss level) in front of the hut to the right of the fishing net to make Hawkster (Animal Orb 5/29) come out.

Continue until you have to fight the Bear Boss. I suggest primarily focussing on the boss, as he'll continuously respawn the same three bears. This boss likes to do his tornado move. Keep waiting for him to reappear from it, then attack him. You'll notice this boss has a pet with him who keeps knocking you down. This is Rammy (Animal Orb 6/29). Be sure to pick him up after defeating the boss.

Moving on, you'll have to fight two beefy bears. You should already be familiar with how to deal with these types of enemies. Heading right, you'll have to pass a continuous rain of arrows. Use your shield with Guide for Castle Crashers Remastered (22) to move through it, then kill the enemies you're close enough. Continue until you find a cave with a rock in front of it. Unfortunately, we cannot enter this cave right now, as we need a sandwich to open it. Return here later and grab the rock, mashing Guide for Castle Crashers Remastered (23) to open the cave. Inside, you'll need two bombs to open up a crack in the wall. Head inside the newly opened hole in the wall to find Burly Bear (Animal Orb 7/29).

Proceed right for a cutscene and your final wave of enemies before entering a cave to end the level.

Pipistrello's Cave
You'll start off fighting slimes that drop from the ceiling. Slimes can be very annoying to hit due to their constant jumping, but luckily you'll only encounter them in two levels. If they leech onto your head, you must wiggle them off with Guide for Castle Crashers Remastered (25). Continue for a cutscene revealing this levels' boss, a big bat named Pipistrello. This isn't a very hard boss to deal with. I suggest sticking to mid-air attacks, avoiding his toxic poo as he's flying through the area. Watch out for his tongue attack when he's on the ground and do your best to avoid him if his tongue starts hanging out. Decide for yourself if you want to deal with the bats as they're one-shots. Be sure to collect Bitey Bat (Animal Orb 8/29) after defeating the boss. Head right to collect your rewards and end the level.

Chapter 5

Flowery Field.
Like you may have been able to guess, you're going to fight bees. They'll come from above, so swat them out of the air to then combo them to death on the ground. Proceed until you have to fight a wave of beekeepers. You'll have to launch yourself from a catapult afterwards. Time it so that you launch yourself at the maximum firepower for an achievement. If you fail, you'll have to replay this level up until this point again for another try.

  • Maximum Firepower

Using a catapult, fling a knight with maximum power.

You'll be introduced to coneheads, which you'll be fighting for the remainder of the level with one beefy enemy towards the end. Break and enter the window to the far right to end the level.

Wedding Crash
This level consists fighting coneheads, followed by a boss battle. Healing items, as well as money, can be found on top of tables. Proceed until you reach the princess. This will start a boss battle with the Conehead Groom who will proceed to attack you via a pipe organ. Dodge the cannonballs by avoiding the red markers on the ground, then bombard him with heavy attacks once he jumps off the organ. Be sure to watch out for his twirling attack as it does quite a bit of damage. Rinse and repeat until you've killed the boss, followed by a cutscene ending the level.

Parade
You'll land on the carriage of Cyclops who's fleeing with the princess. Enemies will start climbing the carriage. You can quickly deal with them by hitting them off the carriage. After a while, the troll from the abandoned mill will start chasing the carriage, so shoot him to death with magic or ranged attacks. Alternatively, you could throw thieves at the troll to do big amounts of damage. Upon killing the boss, the carriage will enter a cave, knocking you down to the ground. Enter the cave to end the level.

Beating this level will unlock the Church Store, where you can buy Monkeyface (Animal Orb 9/29) for 325 gold.

Cyclops' Cave
Upon entering the cave, back out to the left to see Meowburt (Animal Orb 10/29) waiting for you on the road.

Head back inside to start fighting your way through three waves mainly consisting of coneheads and slimes. You can destroy mushrooms on the ground for food. Eventually, you can enter a gate to end the level.

Cyclops' Gate
This is probably the shortest level in the game. Head to the right, dodging three streams of lava emerging from the ground, until you reach a gate. Break down and enter the gate.

Cyclops' Fortress
You should play this level in co-op to gain progress towards the Kay Eye Ess Ess achievement. Bring two bombs with you for an Animal Orb. The level will start off with many waves of coneheads to kill. After two waves, you'll come past a gargoyle statue. Use two bombs to blow up the archway to the left of it to reveal Snoot (Animal Orb 11/29).

Eventually, you'll reach the final wave consisting of two new enemies: a fire demon and an elite conehead. Since the elite conehead does a lot of damage, can drop bombs and make you engage in a button mashing battle, I'd recommend killing the fire demon first. Proceed for a cutscene, starting a boss battle.

Cyclops will start off by slamming two daggers into the ground. You'll want to dodge this attack by moving vertically. He'll pause after executing the attack. This is your opportunity to get some damage in. I recommend using mid-air attacks. Repeat this until his health is about halfway down. This is when he'll start to throw knives, which you can block with your shield. Once below 25% health, his damage and agility will increase. After dying, Cyclops will accidentally slip and fall into the lava grave on the right. Collect the goods, then (assuming you're playing co-op) battle for the princess. Win the battle to kiss the green princess (2/4).

Beating this level will unlock the Volcano Store, where you can buy sandwiches, as well as Spiny (Animal Orb 12/29) for 300 gold. You can now revisit the Tall Grass Field level to unlock Burly Bear.

Chapter 6

Lava World
This level is one of the longer ones in the game and can pose quite a challenge. The enemies mainly consist of fire demons who frequently use magic and can do a lot of damage. Throughout the level, do your best to dodge the lava streams emerging from the ground, as well as the fire demons' magic projectiles. Fight your way through three waves of fire demons to reach a gate in the form of a sandwich. Enemies will appear from the left, dropping sandwiches upon death. Use these to open the door. When you're done, head right for another wave of fire demons. You'll enter a new area with petrified civilians. You can break these statues for food or gold. Fight off two more waves for a cutscene. The Necromancer will resurrect nine statues as skeletons. Kill them, then fight off some more fire demons to find a ramp to a higher level, as well as a chest with food at the bottom. Head up for another wave of fire demons and a mini-boss.

Volcano can only be damaged after eating a sandwich. You can kill the respawning fire demons to get some if you don't have any. Remember that even though you're big, you're not invincible. Do your best to avoid the falling lava balls while chipping away at the boss' health. Continue right to head back down again and find some chests containing food. Now, there wouldn't be a mini-boss and health items after it if there wasn't going to be a main boss, so head right, watch the cutscene and prepare to fight Dragon and Sock Puppet.

First of all, trying to enter the door at the top will just result in Sock Puppet mashing you into the ground, so stay away from it. Watch out for the boulders that Sock Puppet throws from the right, as well as Dragon's fire attack. Although you can kill the boss with ranged attacks, I found it faster to just dodge the attacks and melee Dragon's head in the small timeframe afterwards. Kill the boss and collect the Wheel (Relic 2/3) at the top of the mountain to end the level.

Chapter 7

Industrial Castle
Another challenging level. You can actually come here early, but you'll need a sandwich to open the door and enter the level. Do so to start the level and fight off two waves of fencers and industrialists. Proceed until you come to an elevator. Here, you'll have to fight 12 fencers whilst the elevator is rising. Continue until you find a new enemy, the brute. This one though, is in beefy form and carries something special with him. Kill the brute to collect Cardinal (Animal Orb 13/29).

Continue to the right for a boss fight. The Industrial Machine is really not that bad. To start off, stay in the middle because both the left and right sides of the room will burn you. The boss consists of five electric posts in the middle, a mechanical hand on the left side and an elemental turret on the right side. You'll want to destroy the electric posts first. They'll come out of the ground one by one, shooting projectiles. The middle one shocks the floor once it's charged up. Try to dodge the elemental turret and fight off the mechanical hand while doing this. The turret can be easily dodged as it isn't that fast and you can keep the hand at bay with ranged attacks. Fire away at either machine left afterwards to drain the last of the boss' health. You might wanna go after the hand first because the turret is easier to dodge. Kill the boss for a cutscene, then head right and look through the Telescope (Relic 3/3) to end the level. You can also hit the prince off the castle if you feel like it. I know I did.

Chapter 8

Dock
Now that we 've got all three relics, we can finally enter the dock to the right of the Barbarian Boss level to proceed to the right side of the world map. Stand next to the sailor for a moment to set sail and start the next level.

Pirate Ship
This is another quick level. After setting sail, you'll be bombed and attacked by another ship, introducing ninja's. It's wise not to immediately destroy the barrels because they contain food. After enduring various waves of ninja's, their ship will sink and yours will strand, starting the next level.

Desert
This is a long level. Throughout this level, you'll continually encounter scorpions. They're not part of the waves so you don't need to kill them to progress the level. Though they're one-shots, they can be quite annoying. After stranding your ship, you'll immediately find a shovel in the sand. You can now dig up items marked by X's in the ground, like Mr. Buddy at the start of the game. You'll come across plenty of these in the desert, so keep an eye out for them. Dig up ten of these to unlock:

  • Treasure Hunter

Find and dig up ten buried items.

Guide for Castle Crashers Remastered (36)

3 guidesGuide for Castle Crashers Remastered (37)Guide for Castle Crashers Remastered (38)Guide for Castle Crashers Remastered (39)Guide for Castle Crashers Remastered (40)

You'll be introduced to countless new enemies, such as antlions, scorpions and scarabs. The first two waves will consist of antlions. Although antlions are fixed in place, they've got quite some range with their spit attack. Avoid the quicksand to not be drawn into the antlions because they'll grab you. Kill them with magic or jump attacks, then proceed to meet your first scarab. Scarabs will occasionally head underground and dig very fast, knocking you over. Kill it while it's above ground. Two more waves and you'll encounter royal guards. These are just your basic melee enemies, but upgraded. Continue until you reach the final wave, consisting of two scarabs and two royal guards. In this same screen, Giraffey (Animal Orb 14/29) is buried.

Continue for a mini-boss, featuring a familiar face if you've played Alien Hominid HD. The alien ship will continually drop aliens, which are very easy kills and are basically just there to annoy you. It'll also try to drop stone slabs on you. Kill the boss with heavy attacks, then proceed to the next wave, featuring the same boss! Very exciting gameplay. Kill it again to make the actual alien ship show up, sucking you into the next level.

Alien Ship
You'll start out imprisoned in a cell. Destroy the control panel to the bottom right to deactivatie the lasers. Head to the right to fight ~50 aliens. They are easy to kill, but the swarm can make it hard to dodge all the projectiles. Your best bet is to keep jumping around. Head right to destroy another control panel, starting a cutscene. The alien prisoner will dip and activate self destruct, starting a one minute timer to flee the ship. The time given is generous. Destroy another control panel, and take out another wave of aliens. There is a dark opening in the back wall here, containing Install Ball (Animal Orb 15/29).

Head across the steam traps, then kill another wave of aliens and head through your final obstacle to enter the escape pod and end the level. If you're playing multiplayer, be sure to outrun your mates, as only one person can enter the escape pod and anyone left outside will take a chunk of damage entering the next level.

Desert Chase
At the start of the level, you'll be attacked by a saracen on a camel. Continue for a cutscene of another saracen riding a camel, except this one has an Animal Orb with him. Chase and kill the saracen before it escapes into the castle to collect Zebra (Animal Orb 16/29).

Enter the castle to end the level.

Sand Castle Interior
Bring two bombs with you for an Animal Orb. Upon entering, you'll see a crack in the wall and an Animal Orb in the back. Defeat the enemies and blow up the crack in the wall using two bombs, then head through it to collect Scratchpaw (Animal Orb 17/29).

Continue for a wave of two beefy royal guards and six saracens. My advice for the beefy enemies is to either jump attack them or to keep your distance and hit them with magic. Remember not to get too close because they'll grab you. Head up the stairs to end the level.

Sand Castle Roof
Make your way through the waves of saracens. You'll be attacked by archers, who will then disappear and leave you with swordsmen. The wave with two royal guards will be your last one, because after that, you'll enter a volleyball match! I love this game. Follow the shadow on the ground to find out where the ball will land. I found jump attacks to be the easiest way to hit the ball. Rack up 10 points to win the game and end the level. A saracen will run out and give you a map, revealing the remaining parts of the world map.

Chapter 9

Marsh
This is a time consuming level containing ten waves of enemies and two Animal Orbs. Before being able to access the level, you must first visit the Flooded Temple. Enter and back out to discover that you need a horn, unlocking the Marsh level on the world map.

Knock the skeletons off the dead peasant to start the first wave. Two peasants will shortly join the fight. Head right to find a graveyard. Wave 2 starts here, consisting of four skeletons, but you can add up to six of them if you destroy the tombstones. You can also get food and money out of them, so try at your own risk. In this same graveyard, look for an X in front of the third shack to dig up Frogglet (Animal Orb 18/29).

Continue for a cutscene and another wave of skeletons, featuring four beefy ones. Moving on, you'll encounter snakeys, a new enemy who tends to jump attack and use its thorn magic. They also posess a bow. You'll eventually reach a field of fighting peasants and snakeys. After the cutscene, head over to the shack in the background to pick up Snailburt (Animal Orb 19/29).

Fight through two more waves, then proceed to end the level.

Beating this level will unlock the Swamp Village Store, where you can buy Piggy (Animal Orb 20/29) for 290 gold.

Corn Boss
Upon entering the level, you'll be confronted by the Corn Boss. The Corn Boss will often burrow itself underground and can be hard to dodge. Though every hit drops a healing item, you may want to bring some potions. If you get too close, he'll whip you with a leave. He can also perform a spin attack. When he closes his husk, he'll be invincible. At the start of the level you can position yourself on top of the two peasants, who will proceed to join the battle upon getting hit by the Corn Boss. Towards the end of the fight he'll become faster and faster, at which you should just focus on dodging his spin attack and trying to score a ranged hit. Splash magic can be very handy in this fight. You'll unlock the horn after beating the boss. You can now enter the Flooded Temple and revisit the Tall Grass Field level to unlock Hawkster.

Chapter 10

Flooded Temple
Use the horn to enter the level. This level is fairly quick and easy if you've got good magic or ranged attack. If not, you may struggle as the fish men can be tricky to land hits on as they're constantly jumping. If you're having trouble, I recommend using Seahorse so that you can move through the water as if it were ground. Fight your way through the waves and enter Medusa's Lair.

Medusa's Lair
At the start of the level, look for an X on the ground to dig up Chicken (Animal Orb 21/29).

Fight your way through several waves of fish men and snakeys. The general strategy is to kill the fish men first so that they won't be diving on you from the air, knocking you down. Eventually, you'll enter a cutscene, starting a boss battle. Medusa doesn't have much health. Get up close to her holding the block button, then wait for the snake to snap at you. Once it does, perform a small melee or magic combo and go back to blocking. Rinse and repeat. You could also try a ranged approach, but you'd have to deal with a lot more factors.

Chapter 11

Full Moon
One of the most time consuming levels in the game alongside Desert and March. Make sure to start the level with Cardinal as we'll need it to grab the key sword which is needed for an Animal Orb. You'll be introduced to two tough enemies you'll fight throughout the level, stove faces and iceskimos.

Fight through the waves while keeping an eye out for the constant boulders rolling down before heading up a ladder. To the left, before heading up another ladder, is a shack. Walk near it for Cardinal to get you the key sword.

Continue the level to face the biggest horde of enemies in the game. You'll start out with a wave of 12 stove faces. Once you're done with those, another four stove faces and iceskimos will join in. Proceed to fight off one more tiny wave before continuing to end the level.

Now that we've got the key sword, equip it and head to the Blacksmith to enter the Animal Ark. Head to the far left to find a door with a key chain on it which we can now open. Enter the door to find a dark room with Beholder (Animal Orb 22/29) in it.

Leave the Animal Ark and enter the Weapons Frog to change your weapon. Head back to the door. You may have noticed an Animal Orb lurking from the ceiling already. We can get it by juggling ourselves up there. Jump, then repeat the pattern of light attack, heavy attack, heavy attack (Guide for Castle Crashers Remastered (51)Guide for Castle Crashers Remastered (52)Guide for Castle Crashers Remastered (53)) to collect Sherbert (Animal Orb 23/29). Alternatively, you can level up your magic until you unlock Magic Jump to easily reach the Animal Orb.

Snow World
This level exclusively features iceskimos. Be prepared for three big waves of 7-9 at the start, then another three small waves of 2-4 at the end. Some waves feature fortifications. If you're bothered by the projectiles, I'd suggest focussing on them first, but doing so will free an iceskimo.

Before entering the cave to finish the level, head behind one of the shacks to your right to collect Yeti (Animal Orb 24/29) and use the horn in front of the cave for BiPolar Bear (Animal Orb 25/29) to come out.

Beating this level will unlock the Snow Store, where you can buy Pazzo (Animal Orb 26/29) for 455 gold.

Ice Castle
You should play this level in co-op to gain progress towards the Kay Eye Ess Ess achievement. I also suggest taking Yeti from the previous level with you as this Animal Orb prevents you from getting frozen by ice-based attacks, which is very useful for the boss.

Run across the room of falling icicles and head up the stairs. In the next room you'll be taunted by the Frost King, break the door to proceed. You'll need to cross a bridge, dodging arrows and magic. The basic strategy for this is to block the arrows with your shield and jump over the magic. However, if you've got Yeti with you, you can also just eat a sandwich and tank through everything. Keep in mind that you'll still take damage. Defeat a small wave of iceskimos at the end to proceed to the right and start the boss battle.

The Frost King will keep teleporting across the room, summoning ice shards from the ground and icicles from the ceiling to damage and freeze you. As his health gets lower, his attacks will keep getting faster and faster. Try to attack him using mid-air attacks to stay off the dangerous grounds and chipping away at his health while running from the fast falling icicles. With Yeti, this boss will be much easier as you won't get frozen in place. This boss still is very doable without it though. After dying, the Frost King will freeze in place and get crushed by the treasure chest. Collect the goods, then (assuming you're playing co-op) battle for the princess. Win the battle to kiss the blue princess (3/4).

Chapter 12

Wizard Castle Takeoff
Head right for a cutscene, starting the final chapter of the game. Next up is a small section where you'll need to dodge rocks whilst making your way to the castle. After you land, enter the castle to start the actual level where you'll need to fight three bosses before starting the final battle against the Evil Wizard.

Wizard Castle Interior
Head right to be introduced to cult minions. These guys are very resistant to magic attacks from the four starting knights, so melee them. Watch out as they are relatively strong. After three waves, you'll reach a room with four doors, each leading to a boss. Three of these have a magic barrier however, so start with the first one leading to the Painter.

The Painter is pretty easy. He'll come down to make paintings which will spring to life and deal a big chunk of damage upon contact. Try to get some good hits in when he comes down, then take your distance and kill the painting with a ranged or careful melee attack. As his health lowers, he'll start painting two, then three paintings at a time. When he's almost dead, the Painter will start running around the room, spawning lots of weaker paintings. This is when you should just ignore the paintings and try to chase him down until he's dead. After dying, the Painter will drop a good amount of health items. Loot the chest, proceed to the right and destroy the crystal. Now enter the second door where you'll face the Undead Cyclops.

The Undead Cyclops has three attacks. It'll try to hit you with the coffin, shoot fireballs from his eye or summon the Undead Groom. During this attack, the Groom will walk towards you while the Cyclops will try to crush you with its coffin. Both will be invincible, so keep your distance until the attack is over. You can block both the coffin-swiping attack and the fireballs with your shield. As long as you're able to dodge the attacks, this boss is pretty easy. You have more than enough time to get some hits in between attacks. Personally, I used magic as the main damage dealer. After dying, the Cyclops and Groom will get crushed by the treasure chest and their ghosts will be seen flying towards the ceiling. Loot the chest, proceed to the right and destroy the crystal. Now enter the third door where you'll face a challenging boss, the Necromancer.

For the first two waves, the Necromancer won't fight you directly. Instead, he'll revive numerous enemies from throughout the game. It might be a little overwhelming, so be sure to use the space to run around and pick off enemies one by one. Using bombs or a sandwich can be useful here. Each enemy should drop a health item upon death, so be sure to make use of those. The second wave will be more difficult, as you'll have to fight three beefy enemies. Depending on your knight, magic can be of great use in the chaos.

After defeating the second wave, the boss will come down. The Necromancer's main attack consists of hitting the player with its sword. Try to block him and launch a counterattack. He'll also use skeleton magic, launching a skeleton at the player or summoning hands from underground. In my opinion, the boss fight is easier than the waves. After dying, instead of a treasure chest, the Necromancer will drop the Evil Sword. Proceed to the right and destroy the crystal, then enter the fourth door to start the final level.

Final Battle
You should play this level in co-op to gain progress towards the Kay Eye Ess Ess achievement. If you just started the level as a continuation of Wizard Castle Interior, you should back out to the world map and restart the level in co-op. You likely need to stock up on potions anyways. Note that you'll only unlock the achievement for completing the story if you've completed every level with your character.

This level is purely a boss battle, and a huge on at that. The Evil Wizard has a total of six stages that you'll need to beat, two of which can be quite tricky.

Phase 1: Crystals - The Evil Wizard will summon four red crystals which will spin and fly at the player. Attack the crystals when they're briefly stuck in the ground upon landing.

Phase 2: Bubble - The Evil Wizard will come down to fight you whilst covered in a bubble. When the bubble is blue, he'll attack you with magic projectiles and you can only damage him with magic attacks. When the bubble is red, he'll attack you with a magic splash attack and you can only damage him with melee and ranged attacks. The Wizard moves pretty fast during this phase which can make it pretty hard for you to get his health down.

Phase 3: Balloon - Next, the Wizard turns into a balloon floating around the area launching magic attacks downwards. This phase is easy but annoying. Kill him with juggling attacks. Upon killing him, the Evil Wizard will get crushed by a treasure chest. Loot the chest.

Phase 4: Spider - I sure hope you didn't think we were done already. The Evil Wizard will emerge from the chest as a huge spider and the room will turn dark. If you're stocked up on bombs, you can drop a ton of them while the boss gets out of the chest to take out most of his health. He'll often try to hit you with his big claw which can be blocked by the shield. He'll also continuously spawn cult minions. The best way to beat the boss is to stay in the air, performing magic or melee attacks.

Phase 5: Balloon - This is a harder version of the third phase. He'll fly around and attack a little faster, making him harder to hit.

Phase 6: Demon Sword - The final and hardest phase. The Evil Wizard will come down to fight you with his fire damage dealing Demon Sword, maybe not the best but definitely the coolest looking weapon in the game. The Evil Wizard will walk around quite fast like before. A good opportunity for attack is when he jumps up to summon fireballs from the sky. Jump up with him and get some damage in. He'll also perform melee attacks. Watch out when he starts flying around with his sword in a circular motion. He should do it in a straight line, making it easy to avoid.

Upon landing the final hit, you have a very short time to grab the Demon Sword for yourself before the ground disappears. You'll land on the crystal, catching the orange princess in the process. At this point the game will take over and the final cutscene will play. You'll nostalgically travel all the way back to the castle, flying past the levels.

You'll arrive at a party in the barracks. The King will enter with the orange princess, after which you'll (assuming you're playing co-op) be prompted to battle for the princess. Win the battle to kiss the orange princess (4/4) and play another cutscene. The End.
